Bought this mower at Lowe’s, my other Mower was in the Shop. I needed a mower and the grass was getting high. It mowed great on the first cut, so far so good and it was a very fast cut for the grass being so high. Great Mower… Thank You

First bought a S170 from Lowes. Mowed 1 time put it in the garage walked by it a day later and noticed a puddle of oil under it. Loaded it up took it back to Lowes and got another one. Went to mow with the 2nd one and when I engaged the PTO it made a loud noise and the motor died. Felt under the mower deck and one of the blades was buried into the side of the mower deck. Took it back and got my money back. Decided to go to a different Lowes that had a S180. This one starts and runs good but digs in on the right side. Going to have to check the deck to make sure it is level. Nothing like working on something brand new.
For the most part, I love the new machine. I cut my grass at the 3.5" height and the guide wheels on the mower deck were positioned for the lowest setting so my first cutting didn't go very well. Once I adjust the wheels properly, it went much better. I also have the powerflow device when the bagger is attached. This creates some weight on the right-side of the mower deck so I had to make further adjustments when I took the bagger off and the extra weight was removed, the right side was higher than the left. Something to be aware of if you switch between mulching and bagging
The local John Deere dealer was much nicer and knowledgeable than the big box stores.
It runs , But a lot platic that’s cheesy. Rough ride Nice cut height ,could be a little higher. Have to push a button to go in reverse,that’s irritating. I have not did they maintenance on it yet. Bought at Lowe’s no operation or service book Came with mine John Deer S180 mower 100 series 54” Guess Engine 24HP
Have always had a small John Deere mower. Purchased a bigger John Deere and it is so much bigger and takes me half the time of moving. Bigger rear tires help better on hills. So glad I made the purchase of the S180 mower.
I bought this over a month ago. I like it very much. The ride is better and more comfortable than my previous John Deere mower.
Really like my new John Deere S180. Much bigger cut and power to spare.
